The following is a question and answer interview with Anonymous Female 1. We first under a year ago when she attended my fitness classes. It was her first time in the gym and I paid special attention to her technique and intensity. 3 months later, she signed up to Personal Training. Here is her journey in more detail:

How would you describe your lifestyle before classes/personal training, and what was your motivation behind starting?

Before I started training, my lifestyle was very sedentary. I would drive to and from work, spend most of the day sitting at a desk, and then come home to relax by watching TV, reading a book, or scrolling on my phone. Most of my social activities revolved around meeting friends or family for meals, so I wasn’t getting much physical activity outside of work.

My initial motivation for joining was actually to support a friend who had moved back to the area and wanted someone to go to the gym with. We agreed to try some classes together, and I quickly realised that I enjoyed them more than I expected. Alongside supporting my friend, I wanted to lose weight, improve my fitness, and become more active. Even when our schedules changed and we could no longer attend together regularly, I continued because I was starting to see the benefits and wanted to keep progressing.

What is the biggest psychological/physical barrier that you’ve had to overcome?

Definitely the intimidation of walking into a gym and not really knowing what I was doing. I had no idea what most of the machines were for and didn’t feel confident going on my own. Over time, that confidence has grown massively, and now I feel much more comfortable being there.

What result or change are you most proud of?

I’m really proud of the weight I’ve lost and how much fitter I feel. But I’m also proud of the fact that I’ve stuck with it. Turning up consistently for 9 months is something I never thought I’d do.

What daily habits or lifestyle changes have made the biggest difference for you?

Going to the gym regularly has been the biggest change. I’ve become more aware of what I’m eating and try to walk more where I can. I’ve also started doing more social activities that don’t just revolve around food, like shopping, art classes, theme parks, or just meeting up for a coffee.

What goals or changes are motivating you most in your fitness journey right now?

I still want to lose more weight and keep improving my fitness. I also really enjoy having something positive to do in the evenings instead of just sitting in front of the TV. It’s become part of my routine now, and I genuinely look forward to it.

Can you describe your overall training experience with PT Kob?

I’ve really enjoyed training with Kobbii over the last 9 months. He’s helped me feel much more confident in the gym, and every session is different, which keeps things interesting. I’ve lost weight, improved my fitness, and, most importantly, found a routine that I’ve been able to stick to. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone who’s looking for a supportive and encouraging trainer.
